The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is pleased to announce a job offer for the position ofJunior Professional in the field of Human Capacity Development (HCD) in GIZ Programme “Sustainable Management of Biodiversity, South Caucasus”

The programme:

The programme “Sustainable management of biodiversity in the Southern Caucasus” is a German/Azerbaijanian technical cooperation programme implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Government.
The biological and agricultural variety of our habitats is a vital basis of life and livelihood for all. That is why we conserve and protect it. The Southern Caucasus is one of only two regions located in Europe of internationally acknowledged exceptional biodiversity. However, over-use of the forests, over-grazing of pasture land and poaching jeopardise the richness of the biodiversity, and impair the bases of subsistence and income of the rural population in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.
With this regional programme we are contributing to reforming selected legal frameworks, to strengthening the capacities of the Ministries of the Environment, to human resources development within and outside the Ministries of the Environment, and to communicating matters of importance concerning the environment.
