OPSS Category Manager reports to Grocery Category Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent the company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers;
- Coordinate activities for buying, selling and distributing materials, equipment, machinery and supplies;
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales;
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment;
- Participate in developing and implementing purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures;
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received;
- Participate in the developing of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials;
- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability;
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers;
- Take full responsibility of Profit & Loss.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 year in Retail Sales, with experience in shrinkage, purchasing, margins and procedural execution;
- Experience in Category management and development;
- Strong knowledge of Georgian food market;
- Fluency in written and spoken Georgian and English is a must;
- Knowledge of business and management principles;
- Knowledge of basic principles for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods;
- Awareness of legal codes and government regulations related to merchandising;
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services;
- Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea or road, including the relative costs and benefits;
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent persuading, negotiation and decision making skills;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Strong critical thinking skills;
- High ability to solve complex problem in prompt and effective manner.
