POSITION SCOPE:
 
A hotel Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for the general day-to-day operation of the hotel restaurant and is ultimately responsible for the quality of service provided by the establishment. Food and Beverage Supervisor have a clearly defined role with responsibility for the overall hotel management team. Constant contact with management, kitchen staff and customer services.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or any other related field
  • Fluent English is required, any additional languages considered as a plus
  • Sound knowledge of Food and Beverage products
  • Complying with administrative principles and views
  • Attentive enough to control several tasks simultaneously
  • Clean and positive appearance
  • Representative capabilities
  • Attentive to details
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To ensure that waiting staff are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs and carry them out to the best of their abilities
  • To ensure that guests are totally satisfied with the service provided by ensuring that staff morale is good and that the standard of guest care is high
  • Safety and cleanliness of front of house staff, customer areas and areas surrounding restaurant, ensuring all cleaning and maintenance schedules are complied with
  • To assist staff in setting up and serving guests as necessary
  • Covering extra shifts if required, in the case of staff shortages, to ensure service standards are maintained
  • To ensure that all revenue is correctly dealt with by the cashiers
  • To roster staff in conjunction with hotel's business
  • To deal with customer complaints
  • To discipline staff as appropriate
  • To carry out all necessary administrative duties, such as rosters and timesheets, etc
  • To select staff for vacancies in conjunction with F & B Manager and HR
  • To attend all meetings relevant to the restaurant or Food and Beverage
  • Assist in the planning for future development of facilities and service improvements
  • To be aware of maintenance of Restaurant and ensure that defects are reported immediately
  • The monitoring and achievement of all restaurant KPI’s
  • To be aware and comply with all Health and Safety Regulations
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
  • To liaise with guests 
  • Maintain a high level of service to all customers at all times
  • Meet, greet, seat and farewell customers at the restaurant 
  • Ensure Restaurant is ready for service (adequate supplies of glassware, drinks, bottles, fruit and garnishes, etc)
  • Ensure beverages are served to a consistent quality standard
  • Supervise the accurate taking, setting up and confirmation of bookings 
  • Ensure the safety of staff and patrons during service and after leaving
  • Maintain hygienic food handling practices and cleanliness of all waiting, bar and function staff
  • Balance the register at the end of the shift ensuring a high level of accuracy and honesty
  • Handle complaints according to guidelines and so that it leaves customers satisfied and impressed
